Why work with me?

From gallivanting through the gorgeous Lancashire woodlands on a family session, to building a studio and styling my way through a commercial session for a national brand. A day at work for me is anything but dull. Though I’m very much at home in my office, editing my way through our photos, my absolute favourite part of my job is being out on our sessions. I just love it,  right from the early stages, discussing your needs, finding ways to bring our ideas to life without a huge team and limitless budget, all the way through to our session day and every ounce of effort that goes into setting up, directing and of course making sure the job gets done efficiently and too my usual standard.

If anything, I can say with absolute certainty that I am nothing but enthusiastic and ambitious when it comes to my work.

If I can dream it, I can do it. Or something that sounds a little less cheesy.

Terms & conditions

Service related

Travel:

I dont charge for travel as long as its within 30 minutes drive of the Preston area. And that basically covers the whole of Lancashire. I can travel further out, though that will add an extra charge – contact me for more details.

Weather:

As a lot of my family sessions are photographed outside, sometimes the weather won’t be playing along. I will be in contact with you in the days running up to your shoot and should the weather be unsuitable for our session, we will re-book for the very nearest available time – that may be later on that afternoon once it’s cleared up, it may have to be the weekend after. But rest assured I will do absolutely everything in my power to provide the best service to you. I just can’t control the weather.

Prints:

I am currently working on finding the very best – for both quality and price – Print suppliers, so you can buy ready to frame prints of your sessions. I understand you want to get those beautiful photographs up in your house, but I ask you hold off from using at home printers/supermarket print machines. Just for a short while. There’s no law against this or anything, I’d just hate for you to have a rubbish version of a brilliant photograph.

Online sharing:

As part of my terms and conditions, when you book your session with me, you are giving me complete rights to share my photographs on my online accounts and for advertising/marketing purposes. Please let me know when booking if you want to keep them private. Also, the only other person that has the right to share these images are you, the client. So please refrain from sharing anyone else session without consent from both myself and the client.

Personal injury:

Any directions issued to clients, their guests or employees during a session/event are deemed to be at said persons own risk. I cannot be held responsible for any personal accidents during a photographic shoot.

Pricing related

  • All prices are subject to change, however once you’ve paid your deposit, the price quoted WILL be the only price you pay.
  • The only exception to the above, is your additions to our session, in which case a new price will be discussed and you will be charged accordingly.
  • No session is booked until a 20% deposit has been paid.
  • Remaining balance to be paid prior or on the day of the shoot.

Refunds

  • Refunds on deposits can be given as long as I have been given 72 hours notice. Anything less than that, cannot be refunded- however I will  accommodate a reschedule of session as much as I can.
  • In the unlikely event of total photographic failure, injury or sickness beyond my control, You shall be offered either a replacement sessions or a full refund of what you have paid so far. I’ll probably offer you a cheeky little discount as well, just because I really do pride myself on customer service. A happy customer is more likely to return after all.

Copyright

  • The 1998 Copyright, Designs, and Patents Act assigns copyright to me (Robyn Swain Photography), unless at the time of booking a release is negotiated. By purchasing images in either print or digitally you are purchasing the right to the image, not the copyright and therefore have no rights to reproduce the image in or on any medium.  This is a standard condition for professional photographers.
  • You should also not alter my work in any way – if you’re not quite happy with my edits, I can change them for you – Free of charge – It is a breech of my copyright to edit them yourself, or get another photographer to edit them.
